An Autumn Scene

An outdoor autumn vignette......
A vintage wheelbarrow filled with mums, a bale of hay, a few pumpkins.....
This is from a previous year, but it won't be long until I can recreate such a vignette in our yard again.....
(in the top photo, you can see our neighbor's cat "Audrey" wanted in the picture!)

Our Baby Bowser

A Year With Bowser

This is our little Bowser kitty. We adopted her one year ago. She was only nine weeks old (see top picture). She has been a lot of fun and a great companion for our other furbaby Boomer.
So, Happy Anniversary, Bowser, we are glad you joined our home and our lives!

Lilacs in July

I took this photo just a few minutes ago. It is of our dwarf lilac bush in front of our house. It already bloomed in the spring, and now it's blooming again. I find it strange yet fascinating....... I am enjoying this surprise gift of summer!

A White Rose?

On a recent trip to the tractor supply store, we saw a clearance bin of roses. They were pretty sorry looking, but they were only $1.99 each, so we bought two of the white climbing roses (or so the label said). We have been wanting to put in some pink climbing roses on the arbor, but had not worked them into the budget yet. The label on these said they are white roses that sometimes can be tinged with a slight touch of pink, so I figured that would have to be close enough (at that price!).

Once we brought them home and regularly watered them, they began to green up and look much healthier. Imagine my delight when the first rose appeared, and it was completely PINK!! Especially in light of my other recent discovery of wild pink roses that I shared in my last post.

I am so glad that God knows my heart, because there is no way I could otherwise adequately express the gratitude and joy I feel from His two recent gifts to me of these pink roses.

A Pink Reflection

A Gift from God -- in PINK!

When we put in our driveway and bridge over the creek a couple of years ago, I noticed some pink flowers beside the driveway & creek. There were only a few at the time, so I just figured it was some type of wildflower that had survived the construction, and admired them from afar. This year, they absolutely exploded in a sea of pink beauty, so I went to take a closer look. And they are roses. Beautiful, glorious wild pink roses.

A little background for those who may not know -- pink roses are my favorite flower, but in the three years we've been here, I've never gotten around to planting any. I always found it kind of ironic that I didn't seem to find the time to plant my favorite flower............

But I had pink roses all along. I just had to look.

A Favorite Spot

A favorite spot by our creek ........ we recently placed one of our park benches there (hopefully you can see it in the background by the trio of trees)...... This spot in the creek is one of my favorites because of the way the water flows over the rocks and makes that "babbling brook" sound. One of the most peaceful sounds in the world to me!

Clematis on the Arbor

I snapped this picture yesterday. We planted this clematis three summers ago, and are so pleased with how it's flourished. The blooms are actually pale lavender, though they appear pink in this picture.

Lucy's Baby

Not the clearest pic, but hopefully you can see the baby on the left of the pic. Momma Lucy's head is IN the bucket, so that little head you see is one of the babies. She brought two of them up to feed tonight, but they were still being shy and I only got one in the pic.

Today's Visitor

This little bunny was underneath the birdfeeder this morning. He's getting to where he doesn't even run away when we go out the back door now. I love bunnies!

Ricky Raccoon is Lucy!

My husband wondered how our birdfeeder was becoming empty so quickly!! Aha! we captured the culprit on camera! I named "him" Ricky Raccoon (our youngest son is amused by our complete lack of creativity when it comes to naming our nature friends)....... Well, this shot of *Ricky* showed that *he* is actually a new momma. Therefore, we changed his/her name to Lucy! And with acrobatics like this, she can definitely be in the show!
